indoor fireworks

That last post was a wee bit self-pitying, so I decided to post some fireworks instead. Because, as everyone knows, fireworks are the best way to end a pity party.

Happy (belated) Canada Day and Independence Day to my Canadian and American readers!

So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I’m still trying to figure out how that could be. β€” “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” by Stephen Chbosky

  1. I didn’t find the last post self-pitying at all, just realistic. It’s a shame that companies have so little regard for their employee’s needs. If the situation comes up again, and you need to request something specific, frame the request as “a request for reasonable accommodation” and make sure you use those exact words. Under the ADA, they are legally required to provide such accommodations, as long as they truly are reasonable (they’d have had to give you one weekend day a week off, although you wouldn’t be able to specify which one.)

Hopefully, this will help you feel a bit better, though. I have a gift/surprise for you over on my blog. You can find it at http://transformyourchroniclife.com/wordpress/2010/07/12/lovely-blog-award-me/
