busy bee

Sorry for the lack of posts; I’ve been so busy lately, I hardly have time to breathe. This time of year is jam-packed with events and activities, as the spring and summer festival season ramps up and the schools get ready to close for the summer. As the editor of a small, weekly newspaper, that means big papers and little-to-no free time.

Hopefully, I’ll have time for a longer post soon! I’ve got a lot to talk about.

  1. As the ex-editor of a small town weekly, I empathize with you, Nessie. Also as an ex-editor, allow me to remind you to make sure to take a little time for yourself each busy day. Rest well when you can. Eat mindfully. Take a hot bath and relax. Take a 15-minute walk. De-stress at every opportunity. Laugh. Smile. Breathe.

And have a great time massaging words and building your newspaper!

    • That’s definitely good advice–and like most good advice, it’s hard to do. But I’m getting better at it. Most of the time.

  2. Ooh, you’re editor? Nice!

I have a question for you, when you get a chance. I’m thinking about going to school for journalism. I know that the field is super competitive right now, so I’m wondering if it’s worth going to school for, or if I should think about something else. I want to change my career but I don’t know where to start.

I hope things calm down for you soon!
